Brief introduction to the course
This course aims to provide a basic conceptual understanding of the biology of molecules and cells to underpin later studies in applied biology, genetics, biochemistry, nutrition, biotechnology, microbiology, plant and animal physiology, and developmental biology.

All sessions are whole class lectures for basic introduction of genetics knowledge to Year 1 students

Biography of the Teacher
Professor Gary Chan is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Biological Sciences. He completed his PhD at the University of Basel and did his Postdoctoral training at the Francis Crick Institute in London. He is committed to fostering an engaging and effective learning environment for his students. He was recently awarded the Early Career Teaching Award (2023).
