DESCRIPTION:Details\nDate: 23 October 2024 (Wednesday)\nTime: 1:00pm – 2:00pm (HK time)\nVenue: Learning Lab (RRS321\, 3/F\, Run Run Shaw Building\, Main Campus\, HKU)\nSpeaker: Dr. Vincent Wong\, Senior Lecturer\, Faculty of Education\, HKU\nFacilitator: Prof. Lillian Luk\, Assistant Professor\, TALIC\, HKU\nRegister Now\n\nAbstract\nThis seminar will discuss how to integrate digital story-telling\, experiential learning and social impact in curriculum innovation in an “Edu-preneurial Leadership” course in Master of Education. The speaker will share how this integrated approach enhances students’ critical thinking\, non-digital and digital communication skills\, teamwork and work ethics as required in Co-op education. The discussion will cover how this approach promotes students’ citizenship\, career prospects and employability with the positive commendation from various social stakeholders including the Government\, the Business Sectors and the Reputable Leaders. It will also introduce how teaching might relate to Government’s policy-formulation & impact creation\, as well as Enterprises’ business and professional practice\, which would in turn benefit students and our own teaching as a whole in the “Teaching-Advisory-Practice (TAP) cycle”.\nAbout the speaker\nVincent Wong is the Senior Lecturer\, MEd Specialism Coordination (Educational Administration and Management) Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award recipient (22/23) in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. He teaches educational administration\, edu-preneurialship and school legal issues. He has been selected as the Visiting Research Fellow at Department of Education\, Visiting Scholar at Faculty of Law\, and Founder of two Inter-disciplinary Discussion Groups “Leading Education with Edu-preneurial Leadership” and “Leading Education with Legal Lens” at University of Oxford. Vincent has also extended his teaching and professional expertise from classroom context to Government and Enterprise Advisory bodies in the TAP cycle. As appointed by the Chief Executive\, Secretary for Education and other HKSAR Bureaux\, Vincent has been the board member of Equal Opportunities Commission\, Steering Committee on the Promotion of VPET and QF\, Entrepreneurialship Mentor in HK Cyberport Management Company\, Appeal Board (Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualification Ordinance)\, Vetting Committee for Sabbatical Leave Scheme for Professional Development of Principals and Teachers\, etc.
