Introduction

Dual-mode teaching provides both online and classroom-based instructions in a course. It offers students maximum flexibility as they can choose whether to attend online or in person and is therefore considered as a more inclusive teaching practice. However, engaging both students online and in the classroom can be challenging for teachers. Typical challenges include creating similar learning experiences for all students, catering specific needs caused by different modes of attendance and participation, connecting students from both groups for them to have a sense of community, and various technical difficulties especially with audio, video and webcam.

This website curates a range of resources on dual-mode teaching, which were compiled based on various sources – teachers’ feedback and insights, literature review, our own exploration and observation in the classroom and online, and international best practices.
