In this workshop, three Teaching Excellence Award (TEA) winners – Dr. Lisa Cheung (CAES), Mr. Nikolas Ettel (Architecture) and Dr. Austin Strange (Social Sciences) will share with us their experience of applying for the award and their journey after winning the award. In addition, the TEA winners will be available for private consultations after the sharing. Each time slot will be 10 minutes long. Registration for this workshop will start on 26 Sep 2023.
About the presenters:
Dr. Lisa Cheung is a senior lecturer in the Centre for Applied English Studies, and she is the recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Teaching Award. Lisa has been actively involved in the teaching of a range of postgraduate and undergraduate English enhancement courses on academic and professional communication and has extensive experience in developing corpus-based learning resources and their integration with classroom teaching.
Mr. Nikolas Ettel is an intermedia researcher and lecturer in the Division of Landscape Architecture. He coordinates the Faculty Interdisciplinary Courses and teaches the Common Core Course 24 Frames: Communicating Ideas through Film. He is the recipient of the Early Career Teaching Award 2022.
Dr. Austin Strange is an assistant professor of international relations in the Department of Politics and Public Administration. He received HKU’s Early Career Teaching Award in 2022. He researches and teaches Chinese foreign policy, international political economy, and international development.
